Gettin' There

I remember someone, years ago, telling a joke with the punchline, "You can't get there from here."  A lost traveler attempting to get directions eventually exasperates the person from whom he's trying to get the directions to the point where he tells him his task is impossible.  You CAN get there, he just isn't willing to take the time to tell the guy.

It seems silly, but it's true.  There are some places at which you'll never arrive.  For example, if you wanted to get to some body on the other side of the galaxy, you won't do it in your lifetime.  Even if you could, it would likely no longer exist.  Time and the possibility of the paths remaining to get there may not allow you to 'get there from here'.  

That shouldn't dissuade you from trying, though.  Many destinations have been reached which were long thought to be impossible.  You just have to figure out how to make it happen.
