War Update IV:

A second Stars and Stripes article states that the Georgian facility housing American troops as late as Thursday, Vaziani, was bombed over the weekend. Marines from Ohio, US Army Airborne troops stationed in Itay and National Guard troops from the US State of Georgia are still in Georgia.

Reporters visiting the military facility before hostilities began reported that there were 'KBR style cafeterias'. The photo above is of a "Master Sgt. Patrick Eaton of Co. B, 1st Bn, 121st INF, accepting the rank of first sergeant from Maj. Matthew Smith, the 121st’s commander, outside the barracks at Vaziani Military Base, a former Soviet Army installation in the country of Georgia." taken by Spc. Tracy Smith. The original can be found HERE. Russian troops have reportedly bombed this base. No word on US casualties, if any.
