Tried to Flag a Ride

Crossroads are always depicted as narrow and unkempt.  They're always way out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields.  Maybe there's an old sign pointing an arrow to some city, and the distance to that city.

In reality, crossroads are usually fairly well populated with businesses and people.  Even crossroads leading to small towns usually have a gas station or two.  The devil at the crossroads is probably paying 50 cents a gallon to the government.
