Mind and Craft

Every few years, a new television show appears exposing cloak-and-dagger techniques.  All of the covert tactics, those who've been caught using them, and clandestine works are laid out in detail.  It's very interesting.

When illicit means for collecting data are revealed by those formerly using them, you can rest assured that the means are no longer needed.  Any genius idea someone has is probably old news to someone else, and long-since implemented.  It's not chess... unless a 3rd, 4th or 5th party is capable of moving pieces without the knowledge of either player.

What seems new is decades old.  One time usage is still the only way.  Communication methods are all that change.

Any deeper, and you'll find yourself realizing trust doesn't matter.  Motive has no bearing on anything.  Propagated correctly, nothing ever goes away.

Guarding the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. with military and police is silly.  A bare-chested, tattooed hooligan with an entourage of media cameras following him is no threat, whatsoever.  It sure plays with your mind, though, doesn't it?
