Missed Sunset

I've always enjoyed watching the Sun come up. I remember staying up, when we were kids, to try and see the 'crack-of-dawn'. When I got my first full-time job working overnights at the radio station, one of the things I enjoyed was seeing the Sun finally come up. Other than the fact it meant I was about to get off work, it rose at a perfect angle to view across an open field to the east of the station. It looked like a work of art.

The sunset, in spite of its equal beauty, has always been filled with a little sadness. As a kid, it meant playtime was almost over. You had to leave the woods and start towards the house. Rarely have I been able to enjoy watching the Sun leave the sky.

For a short period of time, I managed to time it just right. If I finished some things up, I was able to watch the Sun leave for the day and enjoy it with no tasks or worries on my mind. I miss that.
