Achronic Episodes

Why does it seem like things that happened over a quarter century ago are recent, yet there are things from a few years back that are already a lifetime away? Working night shift for a few years, then going to swing shift, to days, back to shift, then back to days, may have put my internal timing all askew. It's probably something more common than that, though.

This roller coaster of life may not have been as steep for some, yet impossibly more steep with far more ups and downs for others. Still, we all seem to have the same issue with older recollections remaining fresher in the memory. I feel it has something to do with a figurative sunrise and sunset. Sometimes, the Sun just shines brighter.
