One on One

To make new friends, you often have to start conversations with people you don't know. You can't rely on them approaching you. You feel like you'll lose something of yourself, though, should you make the slightest misstep. Everything remains so painfully superficial and stoic.

Statues in a cemetery have more personality than you when you're trying to make a good impression. Statues can seem to have a lot of personality. It's not real, though.

You feel so alive when you don't think anyone is looking and dead when you try to look alive. It's easier to talk to a thousand people at one time than to try to meet one new person. It's easier to make life-altering changes than to express yourself honestly to one person.
