METROPOLIS / FUTURA

In 1927 a movie was released called Metropolis. It was way before it's time. Inverted pentagrams decorate walls. A cyborg woman dances in the nude. Workers are eaten by machines... The 'star' of this silent film (this was before talkies) was 17 year old Brigitte Helm. She played dual roles as Maria, the worker's spokesperson, and Futura, a robot.

What hurts my head about this whole deal is that this movie was made in 1926 pre-Nazi Germany. 'Maria' died in 1996 at the age of 88, the movie's creator, were he still alive, would be 115!

Google it, you'll find it very interesting.
