Not Unhappy
For most intents and purposes, there's no difference between thinking you're happy and actually being happy. That's how people find themselves in situations they'd never knowingly place themselves. That's how people find themselves in a cult or with people they'd never have imagined.
Wake up in a drug den and think, "How'd I get here?" You thought you were making yourself happy. Wake up in a mansion and realize you hate everything and everyone around you. You thought you were happy.
Maybe not being unhappy seems like happiness. How depressing. That's like thinking the lack of pain is pleasure.
