Mores are more often applied in convenience than logic.  Yeah, there's a semblance of logic, but it's all smoke and mirrors.  There's an angle.

When the winds blow, interpretation changes.  Somehow, making those changes makes what was wrong seem right.  That way, you get to feel good about being bad.
