Labyrinth

Everything outside becomes background noise to inner monologue.  When the world threatens, with its aggressive loudness, inside, the mind can put up all the walls needed to keep everything out.  Just as much infinite exists in there as the boundless universe.  Unlimited combinations twist, turn and span forever.

More walls create more confusion.  Mazes mean it's hard to get in... but it's also hard to get out.  Trouble may get lost finding consciousness, but consciousness may never find its way back.
