Growing Minds

Woke up with a simple thought running around in my head:  People seem to be a lot more easily offended, today, than they were just a few years ago.  There have been no epiphanies about human interaction that weren't discovered in the last ten thousand plus years.  So, what's the reason?

The answer is that those who are easily offended don't have the proper training for life.  Just like with any basic, entry-level job where you'll have to be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs, for basic survival in life you have to have a minimum level of mental strength.  If your mind has been allowed to atrophy to the point where you don't have that minimum mental strength, you'll need to train yourself.

Parents tend to infantilize their kids, treating them as children to a much older age than is appropriate.  The more technologically advanced a civilization gets, the easier that becomes.  It's no more complicated than that.  People just aren't willing to put in the work to grow their minds.  You don't have to be a deep thinker or philosopher to comprehend this.
