Angling

Younger, I'd spend hours pretending to know what I was doing. Before being able to afford rod and reel, there were limitless bamboo poles by the lake near my house. Eventually, the bamboo would overtake the road to the lake. By then, though, I'd long conceded defeat due to my lack of skill.

More fish took my regular old worms than any expensive lures. More time should have been spent figuring out where to look, though. Maybe it was just the chase I enjoyed. Actually reeling them in meant getting them off the hook, and I was far too lazy for that.
