Electronic Soul?

In the 90s, the audience for the internet was not the same as it is today. Back then, few people had access to the internet, or even a computer. Your audience was mostly people with an interest in electronics, computing or just an interest in new technologies. Today, everyone and their grandma has a smartphone.

Ironically, it seems lonelier. Everything available online seems so much more sterile. It's definitely more eye-pleasing, but the edge is gone.

Don't get me wrong. The web opened up the world to everyone. Before the internet, if you were home alone, you were just alone. Now, you can go online and play, chat or meet new people.

Yet, there's still just something impersonal about it. People are reduced to 1s and 0s. It's like digitally compressed music vs. live. The soul is lost in translation, or something.
