Give Me Sympathy, or Give Me Your Death

It is impossible to know where most people stand.  They are too afraid of reprisals for any position they take. That's just how petty tyrants like it.

Never take a position so you are swept clean for the positions the tyrant wants you to take.  Until the little tyrant doesn't want you to believe anymore, that is. Then, if you still hold on to it, you get squashed.  Better to be flexible, right?

What happened to 'Liberty or death'?  It has been replaced by 'tell me what to think so I don't get fired, made fun of, or otherwise harassed'. Take that.
