People are Good
There is potential for good in everyone. A lot of folks might disagree with that. I don't care. People can be good.
Maybe I'm not cynical enough or jaded enough, but, repeatedly, I find myself searching for the good in people. Often, it's not hard to find. Admittedly, it's not so easy for others, but it's still there.
The stories endlessly repeated to me as a child, such as that of Paul, must have somehow trained my brain to believe there is a chance of redemption for even the worst murdering, authority-abusing scum I hear about. We are all well aware that those sociopaths and psychopaths exist and I'm sure they are exploited by the petty tyrants that run gangs, organized crime and all the little would-be tin pots of the world. They don't have to be.
Everyone was born with a sense of mercy. Every person has some spot in their heart that refuses to be violated. I believe it can be found and that it should give everyone some hope.
