Introspection seems to only show up to kick me around. You'd think I'd get some kind of benefit, like insight or something. "Here's a lesson you've learned, Tony," would be okay.

Nope. What I usually get is, "Wow, you did that again." Thanks for that, introspection. That was totally useful.
