There's no such thing as free time. It all costs something. Just choosing to do something with that time costs you the opportunity to do something else.

Can you do nothing with it? Is it even possible to waste time? You were breathing, you were conserving energy... There was something gained, even if it was just that you were keeping yourself alive. Maybe the chronological investment wasn't optimal, but the damage is most likely minimal. You'd have to spend a lot of time doing nothing to see a net loss.

This stream of consciousness is making me feel like maybe not purposely doing anything is the best way to not waste time. That has to be wrong. Now I know I shouldn't listen to myself.
