NOT OUT

If your 'trusted' news source is reporting that Ron Paul has dropped out of the 2012 GOP Presidential race, you might reconsider trusting anything else they say.
Take a look at the official Ron Paul 2012 website:

Ron Paul is NOT suspending his campaign, and he's NOT out, he's NOT even DOWN.  The spin comes from the fact that, with success in several state conventions, the money seems to be best spent in hiring parliamentarians instead of advertising and hosting events.  An email yesterday morning went out indicating that money will now be spent on these direct tactics, instead of the 'throw money at the TV and radio' tactics of old.
Anxious to do as much damage as possible, your 'friends' in the media have begun spinning.  I call it lying.

The Last Wag of the Old Media

For many years, the TV, radio and print media has dominated public opinion. If it was on TV, people would take it as fact. If you could read it in the paper, it was 'in black and white'. Like a the tail of a pointer, the media was largely seen as accurate and true.

However, as long as it has existed, the media has used that reliance to mislead the public; Read 1984. If the media couldn't wag the tail, it would use the tail to wag the dog. This is true today.

The vestigial tail we recognize as the old media is in trouble. With the advent of real-time internet and wireless data, the old tail is having a harder and harder time wagging the dog. It has become obsolete. It is losing its supply of blood and turning an ominous shade. Before long, it will dry up and fall off.

Until it does, however, it will continue to try to wag. That wagging is becoming more and more futile as newer, freer media takes over as the source of news for most people. But wag it still does.

You need only watch the cable 'news' networks to watch the frantic, panic-stricken wagging of this old, dried up stump. More accurate and well-sourced news outlets are putting the rubber bands around it, drying it up even more quickly. In a desperate attempt to stay relevant, they update websites, yet still post the same tired, old, and slanted stories. They have no idea which way to point the tail, and it is flailing wildly.

The only thing keeping it alive are the infusions of cash from those who have long counted on it to keep public opinion on their side and away from the real issues. Even this cash infusion isn't enough, anymore. The people are seeing the rotting, decaying hunk of faux-journalistic mess for what it is: unnecessary.

They may be able to keep it moving for a while, but not forever. True, there are still those who refuse to use the internet, or won't believe the 'trusted' allies on their network of choice are lying to their faces. Still, as long as there are so many accurate sources popping up in the free press that aren't controlled, those numbers will continue to decline.

The Ron Paul rEVOLution is doing a good bit of work towards cutting the old thing off. With little to no coverage, Paul has moved into the top GOP hopefuls, and actually leads many scientific polls. This 2012 election is going to be the last hurrah... the last 'wag', if you will, of the old media.

The tail will soon be gone, and good riddance.

Fox News' Reality Check: Patriot Act Fail

Fox News affiliate reports that the "Patriot" Act hasn't stopped the 42 attacks commonly reported, and that most of the few 'victories' were really failures or simply fabricated by the law enforcement that claims them as victories.

"The majority of cases... were not law enforcement victories, they were simply failed attacks.

For instance, shoe bomber Richard Reid. His shoe bombs simply didn't detonate. The Patriot Act powers didn't stop him from trying."

"It is very difficult to quantify how well the Patriot Act has worked in preventing terror attacks, especially when you find that in many of these plots that were broken up the Feds bated suspects, offered in many cases to buy weapons or explosives, and then once that suspect agreed to take part in the plot, they were arrested."

What Cost Freedom

Hurt feelings are nothing. A few dollars? Nothing. Many have given so much more to merely gain the opportunity to DREAM of freedom. What will we have to deny to ourselves in order to obtain and retain freedom?

Honestly, very little. So much of the price has already been paid. We can see freedom standing at our door. The glimpse of freedom we have inspires us. Yet, for some reason, we refuse to fully open the door.

It must be understood that freedom is the move towards civilization and that civilization is the move towards individualism. For thousands of years, man has been forced into collectives to survive. Individual freedom is raped in the name of security in these collectives. Now, at the true dawn of the fulfillment of the dreams of mankind, we find ourselves bowing at the altar of the false god of collectivism.

This is the reason we hesitate at the door: We have yet to answer the question of whether or not the collective is worth sacrificing in order to be free.

Not only is it worth sacrificing, collectivism is the most antithetical obstacle to freedom; it is the abyss claiming many who seek to be free. Like the ancients before them, many are turned around. They begin to see the illusion of collective safety as some sort of surrogate for true freedom. The enticements into this abyss are the false freedoms... the freedoms FROM things... freedom from want, freedom from fear, freedom from hearing ideas that offend. These things are promised, yet never delivered by the collective.

This is not freedom at all, but enslavement of the mind and soul of the individual.

Until the individual will is recognized as the only force of civilization, man will not be free. And, although the cost we would have to pay is potentially very small, the reality is that the collective will protect itself until the bitter end. The collective sees the individual as meat to feed to collective, not as the objective of freedom. The individual is in for a fierce struggle.

Most individual contributions under $200.

The 2nd quarter is really a big victory for small-government, average Americans.

When you look at his opponents, the numbers look almost flipped... with most of their money coming from large donations, and the smallest amount coming from individuals giving less than $200. People who give big bucks are investing in a candidate from whom they expect to see a return. Ron Paul's supporters only expect freedom as a return.

Most average Americans don't HAVE the big bucks to drop. We feel like we're stretching ourselves to give over $200. But with Ron Paul, we feel it is truly worth it.

He can't be bought. Paul won't get the big money donors, so we have to make up for it with what we can scrape up. We did a good job of that in the 2nd quarter...

But, we have to do more.

The next quarter will really determine who spends the big bucks before the primaries. Dr. Paul will not waste our money. He is very frugal, so we have to give enough to inspire him to pop for the big campaigns. He's proven he will do it with the recent ad buys. We just have to give him what he needs to overcome the well-funded statists.

Last go 'round, we had homemade signs, volunteers who weren't a part of the official campaign making their own literature and spreading the word. This really motivated the base. It was inspiring.

But it didn't motivate the average voter who determines who to vote for from the little time he or she has to look into the candidates between work, family and other obligations. Many of them only heard of the candidates through television, radio and maybe a little bit of internet. They may have seen the "Who is Ron Paul?" banners, and meant to search it, but didn't have the time. If they even voted in the primary, it was because their favorite talk show host, or preacher named the person... or because they had heard positive things about the candidate.

We have to motivate these people. They are the backbone of our economy. They believe the same things we do. If we continue to let them think a Romney, Bachmann, or any of the other waffling ne'er-do-wells are going to help them, we are doing them an injustice.

I'm going to give my hard-earned money again, tomorrow, in the hopes that voters in Iowa will receive a political education with that money. If we perform well in Iowa, we will be exponentially better prepared to win the primaries. We won't win Iowa, though, without advertising, paid campaign workers and other outreach to the people of the state.

The only thing worse than Terrorists are Tyrants!

Well, the PATRIOT Act, a law with some serious constitutional concerns, has been renewed for four more years thanks to some bipartisan statism, as Corie Whalen put it, in the United States Congress.

While Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) gave in and allowed amendments to be brought to the floor - but not before essentially saying that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who single-handedly brought the Senate to standstill on the issue, was siding with terrorists, they were rejected. It also became clear that Senate Republicans were working to railroad Paul, with most of the caucus voting with Democrats to prevent the government from snooping on gun owners.

Ironically, six years ago, it was Reid fighting against renewal of the PATRIOT Act. In fact, they had actually taken credit for killing it (it would later pass). But Reid is now repeating the downright false claims he once rightly slammed Republicans for.

In the end, the PATRIOT Act was passed in the House (250 to 153, 31 Republicans voted against it) and the Senate (72 to 23). And it has already been signed into law via autopen (seriously?). But the debate over the civil liberties protected by the Fourth Amendment is alive and well and we have Sen. Rand Paul, who gave an empassioned speech on the need to restrain government yesterday, to thank for it.

Attorney General Eric Holder thinks you might be a terrorist. Yesterday he said, "The threat has changed from simply worrying about foreigners coming here, to worrying about people in the United States, American citizens -- raised here, born here, and who for whatever reason, have decided that they are going to become radicalized and take up arms against the nation in which they were born."

Previously, Various Curiosities has blogged the Project Megiddo, and surely everyone remembers the MIAC report. Even Glen Beck, who all but called us terrorists for starting the tea party movement when he still worked for CNN, got a taste of his own medicine from MIAC.

Let's review what circulated, and is probably still circulating, among the country's many Information Analysis Centers as evidence of terrorist or anti-government militia activity:

- Owning gold bullion

- Displaying historical U.S. flags

- Opposing abortion

- Talking about the documentary Zeitgeist

- Being interested in animal rights

- Being a lone individual

- Making numerous references to the U.S. Constitution

- Defending the U.S. Constitution

- Claiming driving is a right, not a privilege

- Refusing to identify yourself to an authority figure

- Attempting to monitor the actions of police

- Being bald

- Being a nice guy

- Wearing Levi jeans

- Communicating predominantly by cell phone, email or text message

Any of that sound familiar about you? If so, go ahead and turn yourself in to the Department of Homeland Security. Yeah, right. Basically, all this does is make it so that anyone who poses any kind of threat to the illegal, unconstitutional, corrupt powers-that-be can be placed on a suspect list and, at best, discredited in the public eye, and, at worst, held at Guantanamo or some other torture-chamber-of-a-prison outside of the borders of our country.

"Get real," you say, "We live in a country where government changes hands without bloodshed." Really? Power in America never really changes hands, the public face only changes while the cronies stay. "People that attempt to deny us our rights get punished and no longer can be in any position of authority." We wish. Jay Nixon, the Governor who approved MIAC Report, is STILL Missouri's Governor, and has been appointed to Obama's Council of Governors.

"But at least we still have the Bill of Rights... Right?"

Ha. If anyone ever really threatens their power, that person's rights disappear, and, if enough of us threaten their power, we all might wind up in 'FEMA' camps.

In reality, a terrorist is someone who uses violence against civilians to make them live in fear of the terrorist. The arguments that someone who wants to be free and have rights is a terrorist is unconscionable. Far more arguments can be made that our own government uses terror tactics against it's own people.

No, if you meet any of the criteria in the list above, you are not a terrorist. you are quite normal. But you might want to start thinking about the motives of someone with the power to imprison you who makes such a list.

You Should Have Campaigned for Ron Paul

Ron Paul has really helped me open my eyes to true Liberty. His behavior in debates from 2007-2008 really won me over. I've listened to libertarians, voted for a couple in the past, but have never really been moved to action like I was for Paul. The campaign made me believe in Liberty, really BELIEVE. Not just say it like some sort of mantra with a forgotten meaning, but mean it and preach it.

Over the course of the campaign, it was amazing to see the number of people who's eyes were opened to liberty. It was like they were taking invisible blinders off. People would actually blink and look around like they could see for the first time in their lives. He really knocked the dust off of the concept and lit that torch in Lady Liberty's hand.

The career politico-types scurried away or flipped and flopped like cockroaches exposed, suddenly, to the daylight. Some of them, imitating injured creatures of the night, struck out against the light, attempting, in vain, to quench it. Thankfully, they failed, and, ironically, may have fanned the flames.

Like many inspired by 08, I've been nose-deep in books about liberty, and lately, in liberty history. Reading articles like those in the 1800's magazine, Liberty, is like seeing humanity desperately crawling further out from under the imposing rocks of tyranny. It's been very fulfilling to read the writings of 1800s abolitionists who were some of the liberty torch-bearers of their day. The turn of the century anarcho-feminists were some of the most inspiring and hard-core liberty writers.

I was somewhat discouraged to read an article or two, written by people who say they count those Victorian libertarians as heroes, which contain disparaging descriptions of Dr. Paul. These writers state that Paul didn't measure up to their ideals. They are free to have their opinions, no matter how misguided I believe those opinions to be, but, if they had participated, they would have had a great sense of fulfillment instead of the empty negativity.

He really did inspire me, and, no matter what happens, I will always be an advocate of liberty. No one is perfect. If tomorrow he came out against freedom, endorsing a national socialist, a communist or some neo-con (not too friggin' likely), I'd still be pro-liberty, and it would still be thanks, in part, to Ron Paul.

Happy John Hancock's Birthday!

Everyone knows about the first president under the US Constitution, George Washington, but, other than his gigantic signature, what do you know about John Hancock? Did you know that he was the president of our government when congress signed the Declaration of Independence, making him the first president of our independent nation? Did you know that he owned the Liberty, the ship upon which the first act of defiance against Great Britian occurred before the Revolutionary War?

It's true! No one was killed, but some British agents were roughed up a bit when they tried to illegally search his ship. Liberty was carrying wine, and the Brits suspected Hancock of offloading some of it without paying taxes, making him a controlled substance smuggler.

He also presided over the meeting in Boston that sparked the Boston Tea Party. He didn't participate, having gout at the time, but it's said he told the men to 'do what you will'. He was also one of the men reportedly singled out for arrest the night Revere rode out, letting the nation know that 'the British are coming!'

There's a lot more cool facts about Hancock. Look 'im up.

AUDIT THE FED!!!

I have been watching mealy-mouthed politicians and pundits moan, mock, fight and tell outright lies about the Federal Reserve Transparency act for months, now. WHY don't the snakes like Senator Judd Gregg (NH) want us to know who's getting the money from FedRes? WHY are they fighting it so hard? WHY are former FedRes governors like Frederic Mishkin making outright false statements about what the bill will do? WHY are they fear mongering?

I hope when we finally break down the doors to the crooked, greedy, malevolent farce that named itself 'Federal Reserve' we can find all the dirt on these sorry, lying, deceitful and wicked whores who fought the audit. Fight the American People while you can, Gregg and Mishkin... If the evidence against you is as obvious as your pitiful lies, you're doomed to spend the rest of your life in prison, if they don't execute you for treason!

I, like so many other Americans, WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE MONEY IS REALLY GOING!!! And YOU WILL TELL US, you bunch of slack-jawed hyenas, YOU WILL TELL US!

For Freedom

The more I read, and the more I understand about how government works, especially on the national level, the more I realize that we've really fallen asleep at the wheel. We've become so complacent and apathetic that we wouldn't even know what to do if someone plopped incriminating evidence against our beloved political pundits and representatives in our laps, which some are TRYING to do. We're so arrogant, yet lazy, that we'd rather pretend we're not being defrauded than admit it, or, much less, actually DO something about it.

I am going to tell as many people, give them the evidence, and tell them where to find more evidence. If they ignore it, or write me off, so be it. We don't need to sacrifice the core principle upon which our country was founded FOR ANY REASON. If I don't share what I know, I'm as big a part of the problem as all the lazy, apathetic people who are blissfully ignorant.

Continental Congress 2009

I've been watching, with much curiosity, the 2009 meeting of a Continental Congress in Chicago for the last week. I don't get to watch web video while I'm at work, anymore, but I've been catching the rebroadcasts in the evening. There have been some great speeches and some interesting discussion. It's kinda like watching C-span, but with an edge. They are actually discussing things concerning people in America.

TEA PARTY!

We're doing a Tea Party re-enactment at Everyman Books this Wednesday night. I'm really looking forward to it. It's wild how much interest people have in an anti-government protest NOW, when very few people around here seemed to realize what was going on back in 2007. Many still don't, but they saw it on TV. lol.

I hope we can open some minds to the reality of American government. I know there will be a lot of partisan politics there, even though it's a non-partisan event. I hope we can reach a few people with the message of freedom. Freedom is popular!

A Few Notes

I haven't posted in a while, but I felt I needed to blog a few things.

Firstly, I heard Gordon Brown on NPR this morning talking about how there needs to be global laws, and carbon-free industry. Firstly, I don't really listen to what the PM of the UK says, but I do think it's interesting that he's pushing this agenda. It's GLOBALISM that caused the economic crisis, and he wants the world to come together in some globalist state to FIX it? What a DA.

Yesterday there was a link to an article on Drudge about the new RFID program being pushed. The REALID RFID program got stymied, so it's been repackaged, again, as an ENHANCED ID, or EID. Get a clue, politicians, it's RFID and WE DON'T WANT IT! It's unreliable, sometimes inaccurate, and the potential for abuse is staggering.

The 'Sovereignty Movement' is gaining ground, apparently. Almost half the states in the union have some sort of proposed legislation on the agenda declaring the rights of the states to challenge federal law when it violates states rights. I've not read them all, but some of them even seem to indicate that the state would remove itself from the union should the federal government not recognize the rights of the state.

There's been a lot of talk indicating a Constitutional convention is being planned. This could be interesting. Not too long ago, I watched a documentary about the "Singing Revolution" in the Baltics back in the '90s. If I remember correctly, they formed a constitutional convention and convened a new government that was considered illegal at the time. The Estonians soon retook their country without having to fire a shot. I wonder if that's possible, here.

There was another story on the radio this morning about a man who was arrested after merely telling Dick Cheney that he didn't like his policies. The charges of harassment were later dropped, but the man's 1st amendment right to free speech was infringed. He is seeking some sort of restitution.

My feeling in this matter is that Dick Cheney is a sissy. He had a man arrested who merely verbally attacked him. Alexander Hamilton was stoned in front of his house for supporting a trade agreement with the British in the 1790s. John Jay was hung and burned in effigy. What did he do? He joked that he could probably travel better at night with all the effigies of himself burning. He JOKED about it. He didn't say, "Have that man arrested! He's threatening my life!" He laughed it off, realizing that with Liberty comes risk. That's what MEN do... or that's what men who believe in FREEDOM do, anyway.

McCain 'reaches out' to RP Supporters

This article claims that the RNC is trying to reach out to Ron Paul supporters by obtaining their names from the Campaign for Liberty. They don't want to reach out to us at all. They just want the names of the Ron Paul delegates to the Republican National Convention. Ron Paul himself has not been allowed to speak at the RNC. They want to bar as many Ron Paul people from the convention as possible. Why? Because they are unAmerican, thuggish hacks trying to manipulate the party for their own nefarious self-interests.

The Rally for the Republic will have MORE attendees than the RNC, MORE Republican values discussed, MORE open discussion and MORE relevance to the current situation of our country than either of the other 2 parties that the media drools over. I only wish I could be there. I made plans to attend but had to change them due to transportation issues. The R4TR will be the most important political event of the year, and I doubt you'll even see it on the news. How's that for 'Fair and Balanced'?

Key Ron Paul Supporters Die within Days of One Another

First, Eric Davenport, a very important worker in the Paul campaign, died in an auto accident. Then, Kent Snyder, the 49 year old Campaign Chairman for Ron Paul 2008, passed away of viral double pnuemonia. These men worked so hard and tirelessly, making many sacrifices trying to restore our republic. May history remember them for their heroic, selfless efforts.

Ron Paul Declares POTUS Run Over; Liberty Campaign Begins

Last night, as I listened to the audio stream of his speech on WTPRN, Ron Paul made an impassioned speech that seemed to say he wouldn't give up his run for the Presidency. He called for a continuation of the precinct and delegate programs. He did, however, state, in passing, that his Presidential run was over. He announced that he was swapping his campaign to a broader campaign for Liberty and Freedom.

Although I was disheartened to think of anyone other than Dr. Paul as our next President, he managed to keep my spirits up with a great speech. He is by no means giving up, so I am not giving up. My Ron Paul for President signs might be coming down, but my RevolUTION mindset is steeled.

I suppose there will be some who give up, but I'm not one of those people. If anything, I am more determined than ever. The way the media treated Dr. Paul, the obvious lies and misleading nature of media outlets I once trusted, the suspicious election procedures across the country... all these things FORCE me to react. I plan to continue fighting the ideological battle against the communism and corporatism that has stripped the rights and freedoms from the American people.
