Long Ago and Too Hot

Ceiling fan sounds inspire memories of hot summers.  Rain scatters showers and steam rises from the ground in the late afternoon.  The grind of an a/c compressor coming to life sends you to the kid's house who's parents needed it to be cold enough to hang meat in the living room.  

That was the best place to be after being outside in the heat all day.  It's a wonder there weren't more cases of pneumonia.  Probably would've been if not for being put back outside after trying to play football indoors or some other such rambunctiousness.
