None for You

No matter who you are, someone thinks your life is better than theirs.  They become so overwhelmed with this thought that they don't believe you should get to have any happiness whatsoever.  In reality, they probably have it far better than you in many ways.  That doesn't change the fact that they now hate you just for having one little scrap of happiness.

Most of this comes from propaganda.  Manipulating people to control them is as old as time.  Divide and conquer.
