Frets and Embouchure

Flute and guitar working together trigger primitive parts of the brain controlling relaxation.  Harmonic complexity seems to amplify the effect. Timbre and tone... the percussive pluck and soft breaths of wind combine to fill the spectrum of sound necessary for calm.

Working together, they make sonic analogies and draw comparisons to how the world should work.  Tautly stretched strings are ligaments, doing their duty with visible vibration.  Taut lips blow to create the invisible waves of sound to tickle ears in the upper registers, telling truths and reassurances.  Concerted, they do something to release the right chemicals in the brain.
