Superhero

Exceptionalism isn't as important as individualism.

That sentence was typed, last night, right after supper. Then, almost immediately, sleep attacked. I woke up at 2 A.M. with my computer sitting in front of me, dark. Bed was calling, and this was never finished.

As I sit, sipping coffee, my mind is slowly recalling why I wrote that sentence. Superheroes aren't real. Yet, for some reason, everyone thinks they're supposed to be one. Instead of saying, "We don't need superheroes," everyone says, "It's my turn to be the superhero."

What you do with what you have is what matters. Make it yours. It's cliché, but, really, nothing else matters.

What someone else makes of you is inconsequential, in the long run. You don't have to be their superhero. If you rule your own world, you'll contribute more to the world than you ever could if you try to please everyone else.
