Alternative Vacations

The Air Conditioner has whirred to life for the first time this year. There's no looking back. It just gets hotter from here on out.

Driving through town, the number of out-of-state tags is a little unusual. Visible on Selma streets in the last few days have been a dozen Virginia tags, several Texas, as well as Mississippi, Ohio, and Louisiana. The old Graystone Motel looks packed, too. Aren't people supposed to be self-isolating?

I feel like a million bucks. If the Corona Virus 2019 makes you feel better and better able to smell flowers and other spring olfactory inputs, I may have it. If not, I think I've managed to, thus far, avoid it.

There are a lot of people out walking and kids playing. This is a hard time of year for people to stay indoors. I suspect there are a lot of people who planned to go to the beach, and are now finding alternative vacation locations... like Historic Selma.
