Old World Tasted Bland

Yesterday, we celebrated when the rest of the world was introduced to chocolate, vanilla, tomatoes, potatoes, chili peppers, peanuts, and corn. That's but a short list from an enormous bounty of other foods cultivated by Natives of the Americas. If it weren't for those agrarian indigenous peoples, working for generations to perfect those plants, the world would be all white bread.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some wheat bread. Imagine, though, a steak without a baked potato. What must Europe have been like without all of those foods? Imagine the Italians making pizza with no tomato sauce... The Irish with no potatoes. The Swiss? No chocolate!

How bland the old world must've been. No jalapeños, no chili peppers... They didn't even have bell peppers, yet!
