2 Days In
This was my second day on my new job and I'm really liking it. The people are good and the work is good. I'm enjoying it. Once I get the hang of it, things will probably get even better.
I keep finding myself comparing how things run there with the plant. It's similar in ways, but very different in others. Cougar is more homey and down to earth, while the plant was more plastic and superficial.
I also get the feeling that where I work now is probably more similar to how working at the main office for WSI would have been. I don't know why, but it always seemed that the people up at the home office in Indiana had it a little better than we did.
After only 2 days, I'm still a little bit of an outsider, but that will change with time. At the plant, I had keys to everything, filled out my own timesheet, and basically knew everybody. Now, I wait for someone to open the door in the morning, have to punch a timecard, and, although I know everybody, I don't know everyone as well as I did at the plant. Time and experience will fix most of that.
The thing I miss the least about the plant is being on call. If it takes a very long time for them to entrust me with being on call, it won't really hurt my feelings. lol.
