Going on Offense

If you're looking to be offended, you will be.  It doesn't take much imagination.  Just about anything can be taken as offensive.

Becoming an adult, you realize this.  To avoid making others feel awkward, because you don't want to feel awkward, you don't point out the myriad offenses human being commit by simply being alive.  Adults of any kind can do this.

As a self-aware person, which usually happens in childhood, you learn to start considering others, even if you don't always act on it.  Growing up teaches you that not only do you not have to be offended, you can find humor in things.  It's when you don't grow up that everything offends you.
