Time-Traveling with Music
Music has weird properties. A song from a long time ago that barely registered in your mind, at the time, can take you back to when you heard it. Perfume of the past begins to tickle your nose.
Technically, I guess, it's the memory that triggers other sensory memories. That fact doesn't stop the effect from feeling real. The memory of what you saw, felt, or otherwise experienced, simulates those sensations.
It doesn't even have to be a whole song. Some part of a newer song, or other musical auditory trigger, can do it. Before you know, what's going on, you're wrapped in nostalgia, being pulled through a wormhole to the past.
