Happy New Year, Roll Tide!, and the most honest statement I've heard so far this year...

Another year is here, already. 2010... wow, it really snuck up on me. I remember talking, not too long ago, to someone about how quickly the year 2001 got here, and how, when I first saw the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey, it seemed impossibly far away. Now the sequel has already arrived. No human missions to Jupiter, yet, and no moon obelisks, either.

A few minutes ago, while watching a documentary entitled Definition of Stupid, I heard someone say, "Modern universities are a placebo for intelligence." That totally hit the nail on the head to me. It seems the time and money wasted in college is what earns a degree, these days, not actual intellectual pursuits.

'Bama has another National Title to add to the 12 previous. Lucky number 13. I guess 13 was an unlucky number for Colt McCoy. Roll Tide! At least college is good for something.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I had a wonderful Christmas with my girlfriend and our families. Santa Claus brought me all the toys I wanted, too. I want to have a bonfire, soon. I'll be doing the usual wasting of money fireworks at my house again this year for New Year's Eve.

Love to all of you.

Happy VD!

I had a great Vanlentine's Day. I took the day off from work to surprise my girlfriend at work for lunch. It made her happy that I would do that, and that made me happy. We ate chinese, her favorite, and exchanged valentine's gifts. It was a very good day.

Sick New Year's Eve

Well, my New Year's eve was a bust. Everyone was sick. I was expecting about a dozen people, but only one showed up, Matt, and he was complaining about being sick when he got there, leaving around 9:30. Even my girlfriend wasn't feeling well, and was out of the picture before 8. I bought beaucoup fireworks, and didn't even get them out of the truck, much less fire any of them off. I have a fridge full of beverages and food that were supposed to be eaten Monday night.

Oh, well. I guess I'll have a shindig at some point and shoot fireworks. Hope the neighbors don't mind. They really shouldn't mind. I overlooked the shotgun pellets raining down on my house Monday night, so they shouldn't have a problem with my non-lethal fireworks.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Santa was good to me, this year. I got a big ole' Craftsman toolbox w/wheels from my baby, among other great gifts. Most importantly, I was able to spend a good time with my family. That kind of thing becomes more important to me every day, and is especially important on a day like Christmas.

I'll probably blow entirely too much money on fireworks for New Year's Eve, and then blow them up. It's been a tradition I started when I bought my house. The first time was New Year's Eve 1999. Before that, I had a bottle rocket tradition going on with my old High School buddies, who've since moved away.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and want to wish you a Happy New Year!

Resolutions?

Twilight Zone, B Horror flicks, fireworks and a sweet, beautiful girl at my side... The perfect way to ring in the new year.

What new leaf to turn over? I kept my resolution last year to quit smoking in '06. I smoked my last one on February 24th of last year.

But what do I need to do for this year?

I dunno. It's lunchtime, and I'm hungry. Maybe something food oriented?
