Charges Dropped Against 'Don't Tase Me Bro'

Andrew Meyer, known as the 'Don't Tase Me Bro' after being tasered by campus police in black BDU gear on the University of Florida campus, has had the charges against him dropped. The prosecutor agreed to drop the charges of interfering with an educational institution function and resisting an officer without violence if he wrote an apology and donated money to the American Cancer society.

What the heck is that all about? I think whoever ordered the campus police to take him out should be held into account. The police were cleared of wrongdoing, and so was the kid. Obviously, this was a screw up on the part of the faculty or organizers of this event. If I were a student there, I'd make sure I let the school know how unhappy that kinda crap makes me.
